Proposing an Experiment at NSCL

Proposals for beam time at NSCL are solicited in a call for proposals. Proposals are currently being accepted until 5:00 pm on Monday, November 30, 2009 (Eastern Time) for consideration at the 34th meeting of the NSCL Program Advisory Committee on January 19-20, 2010. Written proposals are evaluated by an external program advisory committee (PAC). NSCL does not require oral presentations during the PAC meeting.

You can choose a primary beam from the beam list and estimate rare isotope yields. You can bring your own detectors or use an existing experimental device. NSCL staff will gladly assist you in preparing your proposal.
