Safety for Experimenters

Prior to being permitted into the experimental areas, users must undergo site-specific safety training. The safety training lasts one hour and is conducted by the NSCL Safety Office. The NSCL Safety Office is jointly administered by Michigan State University’s Office of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Safety and NSCL. It can be reached by calling 123 from any phone at NSCL.
If you have any safety concerns or questions, please bring them to the attention of the NSCL Safety Office or NSCL cyclotron operators, who can call in appropriate personnel. You can also contact the NSCL Radiation Safety Officer, Dr. Reginald Ronningen (Phone 517-333-6378), or Michigan State University’s Radiation Safety Officer, Kristin Erickson (Phone 517-355-5008), directly.
In the case of an emergency while at NSCL, dial 911 from any phone.
