Radio Frequency Fragment Separator
Joshua Stoker, NSCL doctoral student, takes a reading from the radio frequency fragment separator. The separator provides additional filtering of NSCL rare isotope beams used in basic nuclear science experiments. Designed and implemented at the suggestion of NSCL users, the separator is essential for the production and study of extremely neutron-deficient isotopes, a particular strength of NSCL.
