National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) and the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams Project (FRIB) at Michigan State University recognize and accept their duties to promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for their employees, users, visitors, contractors, and members of the public who may be affected by its activities in so far as is reasonably practical.
NSCL and the FRIB project have established programs to prevent work-place-related incidents that may result in injury, illness, or unintended damage to property. To realize these objectives NSCL and the FRIB project will make adequate resources available to promote continual Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) improvement. The NSCL OHS system was registered as compliant with the OHSAS 18001 standard on July 30, 2007. The system is being revised so that compliance will extend to the FRIB project.
